I was raised in the Panhandle of Florida, near the beautiful white-sand beaches of the Emerald Coast (you really can’t find better beaches!). I hold a Master’s Degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education. After my husband and I had our first child, I made the decision to step away from the classroom.
When we moved to Texas, we immediately began searching for a church. Both of us grew up Methodist, and the moment we walked through the doors of FMUMC, we knew we had found home. Since we don’t have family nearby, this church quickly became our extended family. We raised our children together, shared meals as our families grew, celebrated each other’s joys, supported one another through struggles, and lifted each other up when needed. This church family became my refuge and strength, especially after my husband passed away. They provided meals, prayed for us, encouraged us, and consistently checked in on us. We always knew we were held—by God and by our church family.
I’ve been in leadership at FMUMC since we first started attending 24 years ago. When the opportunity to join the church staff arose, I knew I couldn’t pass it up. I’m truly blessed to work alongside such an incredible team and to come to work at my second home every day.
