Serve In the Church
Serve on the Care Team
Moving beyond thoughts and prayers, FMUMC's care team puts prayers into action. Whether your passion is writing cards, delivering meals to families with newborns, visiting the hospitalized and so much more, we're sure there's a place for you!
Serve on the Hospitality Team
It takes a lot to make Sunday mornings at FMUMC run smoothly; and the Hospitality Team is right there on the frontline. From greeting folks as they enter the building to ushering them to their seats and assisting in service, to managing the Welcome Desk, join the Hospitality Team this week!

FMUMC's Hospitality Team
Part of the care we strive to offer our congregation is offering a warm welcome each Sunday morning. Whether the person arriving at our church doors is a first-time visitor or a long-time member, we can't know where their spirit is that day. Therefore, our Hospitality Team works to cultivate an atmosphere of welcome and inclusion, ensuring you can let your guard down to fully participate in worship.
Sundays come every week of the year. And we can always use support in the mornings. To learn more about this ministry or to join a sub-team, please contact Pastor Taylor Smith at the link below:
Greeters have one of the most important responsibilities, because they are arguably the first impression a visitor might encounter at FMUMC. Greeters help hold doors open for people and offer directions as people entire the building (to the restrooms, welcome desk, registration tables, etc.)
Greeter Lead: Stacye Miller
Ushers | 9:00 or 11:00 options
Currently, in the COVID environment, serving on the Usher Team includes helping people register their attendance (for contact tracing), assisting people to and from their seats, and generally offering support to anyone who arrives to worship. In worship, pre & post COVID this team might also include passing around the offering baskets, helping direct people to receive Communion and assisting with pre-service set up.
9:00 Contemporary Service Usher Team Lead: Cathy Oxley
11:00 Traditional Service Usher Team Lead: Jeff Stephenson
Currently, the Welcome Desk ministry exists to help anyone who had not pre-registered for service get registered. But beyond that, the Welcome Desk exists as an information center for anyone and everyone to find out important information, sign up for events, trips, classes, etc.
Welcome Desk Lead: Cindy Sewell
