Director of Sonshine Kids Preschool

Hello!  My name is Heather Cole and I am thrilled to serve as the Sonshine Kids Preschool Director!  My passion for Early Childhood Education stretches over 25 years.  I have an Associate’s Degree in Arts, Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology and Master’s Degree in Education.  I knew at a very young age I was destined to stay in school forever, so I decided to fulfill that dream and stay in school as my career!  Being in the field of Speech Pathology for many years in college, it gave me a newfound passion for working with children with speech and other difficulties that would later in my preschool career become very helpful.  My heart will always be with families and children with special needs.  Over the past 18 years, I have held positions as a Preschool Director and Regional Director in preschools.  There is no other profession I would choose other than to work in preschools surrounded by children, parents and teachers.  Preschool age is precious, and I am honored to be a small part of each of our families’ lives!

When I was starting High School, I was lucky to have met my now husband, Chris, at a very young age.  We were fortunate to build a beautiful family and settle in Flower Mound in 2013.  We have 2 daughters, Shelbie and Ainslie and one fury dog (that thinks he is human!), Levi.  Family is extremely important to Chris and I, so we spend most of our free time traveling to see family.  Also, we love spending any time we can at the lake, that is our favorite pass time.  Just a little more about me, I love sweet tea, the color pink and Texas country music!

Education is an incredible process to watch and honestly my job is such a joy!  I love coming to work to see the families and work with a wonderful group of teachers each day.  My hope is that every child that comes through our doors at Sonshine Kids knows that Jesus loves them, school is a fun safe place and that Mrs. Heather is always there for a high-five!
