We believe at FMUMC that service is a vital component of Christian discipleship. The maturing Christian not only develops in knowledge and faith, but also develops in his or her service toward others. At FMUMC there are a number of ways to serve: in the church, in the community, and in social holiness ministries. We pray you find an area to explore serving and, ultimately, that service might begin to transform your life as you seek to transform the world.

Carter Bloodcare - Carter BloodCare helps save lives across our community through the gift of life. FMUMC holds a blood drive twice a year in our church parking lot.

Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) - CAC seeks to bring hope + healing to children victimized by abuse. FMUMC helps in this hope during the holidays by adopting CAC children during our Angel Tree drive.

Christian Community Action (CCA) - CCA ministers to the poor by providing comprehensive services that alleviate suffering + bring hope + change lives in the Lewisville + surrounding area. FMUMC raises awareness + funds for CCA's annual Back-to-School drive + Thanksgiving Celebration. Additionally, FMUMC supports CCA's summer programs for kids as well as CCA seniors during our holiday Angel Tree drive.

First Meal Denton - First Meal Denton is ministry where we cook + serve breakfast for homeless + low-income neighbors in Denton County. FMUMC meets at First United Methodist Church of Denton the third Saturday of the month to cook + serve. We also collect + distribute clothing + personal hygiene items for guests as needed.

Keep Flower Mound Beautiful - Keep Flower Mound Beautiful seeks to help beautify our local Flower Mound community. Join FMUMC as we help keep our Adopt-A-Spot of Bruton Orand Boulevard clean + trash-free! Typically these clean-ups are scheduled 3-4 times a year.

Kyle's Place - Kyle’s Place, a program of Journey to Dream, is the only youth transitional living campus in Denton County for teens ages 14-19. FMUMC supports this work through hosting events for the teens + collecting needed supplies + sending volunteer teams for events + projects. From summer tutoring to teaching basic life skills on Thursday afternoons to volunteering to drive teens to jobs or appointments, there are many ways to help these teens have more security + support!

Habitat for Humanity of Denton County - Habitat for Humanity raises funds to build affordable local homes in Denton County. During Interfaith Builds, FMUMC partners with Jewish + Muslim + Sikh + various Christian partners to both serve + learn. FMUMC also seasonally joins in a day of painting with a Brush with Kindness house!

Laundry Love - Laundry Love provides access to free laundry services for the homeless + working poor. Volunteer with FMUMC each first Tuesday of the month at StarBrite Coin Laundry in Old Town Lewisville. All that is needed is a heart for others + the ability to put quarters into washing machines!

Lovepacs Lewisville - Lovepacs helps provide meals for students in LISD + Rocky Point Estates when they go home over school breaks. FMUMC gathers + collects food + packs food bags + boxes + that we deliver to local schools. Our packing days especially are a great mission project for those of all ages!

My Little Pantry - My Little Pantry is a grassroots service movement that helps provide food in areas of need. Our pantry is in the Rocky Point Estates. Every Sunday FMUMC sends one family sign-up to help us gather + deliver non-perishable goods that help families in need.

Salvation Army Lewisville - Salvation Army is dedicated to doing the most good for those in need in North Texas. FMUMC serves by preparing + serving lunch at the Lewisville location in a program we call Breaking Bread every 5th Sunday of the month throughout the year. In addition to lunch, we provide snack bags for guests to take on their way. This is a great project for a family to serve together on a Sunday!

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Dallas - Sleep in Heavenly Peace's mission is "no kid sleeps on the floor in our town!" FMUMC hosts seasonal bed builds + bedding drives + gathers small groups for in-home bed deliveries.
