Ongoing Sunday Morning Groups

Sojourners | Weekly | Sunday 9:30 AM | Room C2/4

One of Flower Mound UMC's longest standing Sunday School classes, this lecture and discussion-based discipleship group is led by a rotation of teachers ranging from PhDs in history to church clergy to seminary students. You can expect to meet other people ranging in age from empty nesters to retirees, couples and singles alike. Each Sunday you'll receive a well prepared lecture-style devotional with the opportunity for discussion and engagement. Throughout the week, this class supports one another through shared congregational care, support, and friendships.

Connections | Weekly | Sunday 9:30 AM | Room C12

A discussion-based class of adult couples and singles of different ages and stages. This group studies a variety of topics and is thankful to grow together in faith. This social class also enjoys spending time together outside of Sunday mornings.

Cornerstone | Weekly | Sunday 9:30 AM | Room C8

This lecture style class is a great place for those looking for a more educational experience. You're sure to get a deep dive into theology that connects to your daily life.

Serendipity | Weekly | Sunday 9:30 AM | Library

This Sunday School class is comprised of couples and singles, parents of young children and some retirees. Through discussion-based studies, you'll have the opportunity to share life and cultivate your faith through sharing your lived experiences.

Elevate | Weekly | Sunday 10:45 AM | Youth Room

This delightful group welcomes all who are interested in group study, close connection, and mission service together. The class time lends itself to convenience for those attending the 9:30 worship service and meets in the Youth Room behind the Fellowship Hall.

Led by the preaching pastor for the upcoming Sunday worship, this is a great opportunity to understand the Scriptures in greater depth, and offers opportunity for reflection in community. ROOTED Christos Group | 2nd + 4th Friday | 7 PM | Off-Site

ROOTED is an intentional time set aside every other Friday to meet with "soul friends" and to let go of the expectations that bind us. This group seeks to encourage one another in our faith walk, while remaining rooted to the living Word. Join us in our homes as we grow in our faith together.

Young Family Fellowship | Saturdays Monthly | Off-Site

A vibrant community of families with children elementary-age and younger. This group offers a warm and inviting space for parents and their little ones to connect, share experiences, and build lasting friendships. Whether it’s fun-filled play-dates, interactive family events, or supportive discussions, our gatherings are centered around nurturing faith, creating joyful memories, and growing together as a community. If you are a guest or new member to the church, or would just like a refresher course on the United Methodist beliefs, please join us for Starting Point, a 3-week series led by Rev. Alexandra Robinson. Each week has a different topic including the History of Methodism, United Methodist beliefs, Flower Mound UMC mission and vision. Date Night with a Purpose | Sept 15 + Oct 20 + Nov 17 | 5-7 PM

This new offering brings date night to a new level! We'll serve up great food combined with great topics to offer support for healthy marriages. From tacos bars to BBQ, guest speakers to table conversations, enjoy dinner with your spouse, learn ways to strengthen your bond, and get to know other couples! A suggested donation is $20 per couple for the cost of dinner and childcare. September 15th 5-7 PM Tacos & Trivia - With a taco bar and fun trivia, we'll help you determine what issues are "trivial" in a marriage and what issues you want to be sure to address. October 20th 5-7 PM - Up In My Grill - It's BBQ night as guest speaker Debra Fitzgerald, a licensed therapist, leads us through how to improve communication in marriage! November 17th 5-7 PM - You're Bacon Me Crazy! - All things bacon served for dinner, as we own up to all our crazy and how we can manage the inevitable conflicts couples experience.

Disciple Bible Study Luke + Acts | Sundays, Sept 8 - Dec 8  |  5-7 PM  |  Library

Disciple Bible Study is a great way to increase your understanding of the overarching events, themes and history of the Bible. It offers opportunities to practice regular Scripture reading and forming relationships in small group connection. This 12 week class consists of daily readings and questions and meets each week for discussion. The focus of this Disciple study is Luke + Acts. New members are welcome to join, with or without prior Disciple Bible Study experience. Class will be offered in a hybrid in-person/zoom format to allow more people to participate!

Facilitator: Pauline Henry. Pauline is a member of FMUMC, current seminary student at Perkins School of Theology at SMU, and chaplain at UT Southwestern.

'The Chosen' Season 4 Bible Study | Sept 10-Oct 29 | 6:30-8 PM | Room C2/4

It's not too late to join 'The Chosen' movement and join as we watch Season 4! The Chosen is a video series that takes the characters and stories from the Gospels and brings them to life. Each Tuesday night, the group watches an episode and then has discussion following the video. Group facilitators are Jack Ivy and Bev Klein.

Processing Grief Seminar | Tuesdays, Oct 29-Dec 3 | 6-8 PM

Gather together for support as we walk the journey through grief. Each session consist of information and strategies to process grief in a healthy way, as well as time to share and learn from one another. Those who have experienced a death of a loved one and are wanting the support of Christian community are invited. This group is open to church and members of the greater Flower Mound/Lewisville community. This seminar will be led by Debra Fitzgerald, a licensed therapist.
